What you receive when you study with us — and what you do not.

The advantages of Hikmat Academy are mostly things we do not do, as much as things we do.

At a Glance

Six things that distinguish our programmes.

Practitioner Faculty

Every course led by someone who has worked in the field, not only studied it.

Malaysian Curriculum

Every session grounded in Malaysian law, EPF, LHDN, and local market context.

Small Cohorts

A maximum of twelve participants per cohort. Discussion is substantive, not rushed.

No Product Sales

No commission, no referral fee, no product recommendation — ever.

Written Materials

Pre-session reading and written notes to take away. Content you can refer back to.

Weekend Schedule

All programmes run on Saturday mornings. Suitable for working adults.

Expertise

Faculty who have practised, not merely read.

Our faculty are licensed financial planners, chartered accountants, and solicitors with working practices or retirement from those practices. When they explain how Malaysian probate works, it is because they have handled estates. When they describe EPF withdrawal procedures, it is because they have guided clients through them.

  • Licensed financial planners with SC registration
  • Chartered accountants with tax practice background
  • Solicitors with estate and property experience
  • Minimum fifteen years of client-facing work per faculty member

"The gap between knowing something in theory and having managed it for real clients is considerable. We hire on the basis of the latter."

— Hikmat Academy Faculty Standard

Each course is reviewed annually against changes in LHDN regulations, EPF rules, SC requirements, and Malaysian property law. Where the law changes, the curriculum changes. Participants always study current conditions, not historical ones.

Curriculum

Malaysia-specific, reviewed every year.

We do not repurpose foreign curricula or generic financial planning frameworks. Every programme is written for Malaysians operating under Malaysian conditions — EPF structures, LHDN rules, SC regulations, Malaysian property tenure, and the relevant social and family context.

  • EPF Akaun 55, Akaun Sejahtera structures explained
  • LHDN personal income tax applicable to retirees
  • SC-licensed investment instruments reviewed
  • Annual update before each cohort opens
Experience

A deliberate pace, by design.

We do not offer self-paced online modules, bulk-cohort video recordings, or automated certificate mills. All sessions are in person, in a room with twelve people and a faculty member who knows your name. Questions are answered fully, not deferred to a forum.

  • All sessions in-person at Jalan Sultan Ismail, KL
  • Faculty available for questions before and after each session
  • Twelve participants maximum — no exceptions
  • Written follow-up notes after each session

The seminar format of the retirement reading course allows participants to discuss their own circumstances. This is not group therapy — it is the pedagogical method of the professional school, where real cases sharpen understanding better than hypothetical ones.

Twelve-Week Foundations MYR 2,150
Six-Session Retirement Reading MYR 980
Single-Topic Workshop MYR 480
Value

Transparent fees, nothing added afterwards.

The fee stated is the fee charged. It includes all written materials, all sessions, and all pre-session reading. There is no supplementary material behind a paywall, no upgrade tier, and no upselling of products after the course ends. The course concludes; you leave with what you came to learn.

  • All materials included in the stated fee
  • No recurring charges or subscriptions
  • Full refund available with 14 days' notice
  • Transfer to next cohort available on request

What Sets Us Apart

Three things no other provider offers together.

Structural independence from financial products

Our charter prohibits referral arrangements and product commissions. This is not marketing language — it is a written operating principle. No faculty member benefits financially from what you choose to do after the course. That independence is the condition for honest instruction.

The seminar method for personal finance

The retirement reading course uses the seminar method: participants bring their own circumstances to the table and discuss them in confidence. This is not a format commonly used in financial education. It is borrowed from professional schools, and it works better for adults with real decisions to make than lecture-and-quiz does.

Kuala Lumpur, in a room, on a Saturday

There is no online version. Financial education of this depth requires a room, a faculty member, and other participants asking the questions you had not thought to ask. The Saturday schedule accommodates working adults without asking them to take leave or rearrange their weeks.

Places in each cohort are limited and fill at their own pace. If you are considering a programme, the next step is a conversation.
