Why Hikmat Academy

What makes our approach different.

Malaysian Context, Throughout

Every session is grounded in Malaysian law, EPF rules, LHDN requirements, and the local property market. We do not repurpose foreign curricula.

Faculty with Working Experience

Each course is led by a faculty member who has practised — as a licensed financial planner, solicitor, or chartered accountant — not merely studied the subject.

Small Cohorts by Design

A maximum of twelve participants per cohort allows for substantive discussion. Your questions receive proper attention, not a formulaic answer.

Written Materials in Advance

Participants receive reading materials before each session. Class time is used for discussion and application, not passive presentation of introductory facts.

No Product Recommendations

Hikmat Academy does not sell financial products. The faculty have no commercial interest in what you decide to do with what you learn. Instruction is instruction.

Designed for Adults with Commitments

All programmes run on Saturdays. The pace assumes working adults with family and career responsibilities, not full-time students with open schedules.

Is there a programme that fits where you are now?

Each cohort opens a few times a year. If you would like to discuss which programme suits your current situation, we are glad to have that conversation before you enrol.

Common Questions

Frequently asked questions.

Who are these programmes intended for?
The programmes are designed for Malaysians who are in their forties, fifties, or early sixties and who want a thorough understanding of their financial position. Most participants are working adults or recently retired professionals who have accumulated some assets and would like to make sense of them properly. No prior finance knowledge is assumed or required.
How are the sessions conducted?
All sessions are held in person at our premises at 85, Jalan Sultan Ismail, Kuala Lumpur. Saturday mornings for the twelve-week and workshop formats. The retirement reading course meets as a seminar, with participants encouraged to discuss their own circumstances within the group. Written materials are provided before each session.
What is the cost and how do I pay?
The twelve-week investing course is MYR 2,150. The six-session retirement reading course is MYR 980. The single-topic Saturday workshop is MYR 480. Payment details and invoice are provided after your enrolment is confirmed. We do not hold provisional places without payment.
Will I receive investment advice or specific recommendations?
No. Hikmat Academy provides education, not regulated financial advice. You will leave with a better understanding of your options and the relevant Malaysian frameworks. What you choose to do with that knowledge is yours to decide, ideally with a licensed financial planner if the decision is consequential.
How often do cohorts open?
The twelve-week course typically runs three times per year — in January, May, and September. The retirement reading course runs twice a year. Workshops are scheduled on an ongoing basis, roughly once per month. Contact us to be notified when the next cohort opens.
What happens if I need to withdraw after enrolling?
Withdrawals made fourteen or more days before the start date receive a full refund. Withdrawals within fourteen days of the start date may be transferred to the next available cohort at no extra charge, or a partial credit may be agreed upon. Please contact us directly to discuss your situation.
Is participant information kept confidential?
Yes. Participant names, contact details, and anything shared in seminar discussions are held in confidence. We do not share participant information with third parties, and within the seminar format, participants are expected to maintain the same standard of discretion toward each other.
